Not so tiny dancer

A work friend brought us this tutu, but Julia was too tired to really model it for you. Yes, she is wearing an Iron Maiden onesie with her tutu.

Sleepy heads

Morning exercise

Julia gets her morning exercise!

(I'm trying a new video setup- bear with me if this doesn't work!)

Mover and shaker

It is getting harder and harder to get a non-blurry photo of this girl because she is constantly in motion.

More swimming pictures

Asher's Mom Jill took some great pics of the babes on Saturday.  I swiped these from Asher's blog (thanks, Jill!)  because they're too great to not post here....

Zerberts at girls night

I just realized we've had technical difficulties this week- I've been posting, but the pictures haven't been showing up. I'll try to fix it this weekend.

Julia and I went to girls' night at Debbie's tonight, and Julia impressed everyone with her zerbert skills!

Good morning!

Busy body

Swiping at the camera this morning. Julia is almost always in motion these days!

Carrots were much more popular than avocados, but Julia spent most of dinner blowing zerberts.

Round 2 of Julia versus the avocado went better, but apprehension remains high.

Happy Six Month Birthday!

Dear Julia,

SIX MONTHS!  You're half a year old!  And your half birthday falls on Cinco de Mayo!  (Sorry this is a couple days late- it's been a busy week!)

You had your six month checkup this morning.  Your official statistics are:  19 pounds 2 ounces (95th percentile), 27 inches long (90th percentile), and your head is 44 cm around (90th percentile).  Doctor G says you're a healthy baby girl!

The past month feels like it was full of some BIG milestones....  You can now sit up really well, you had your first solid food (organic whole grain cereal), you had your first high fever (102.5 for two days), and you were baptized.  It was a big month!

Early in the month we got together with Jill, Dave, and Asher at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.  We took some really cute pictures in the bluebonnets, but the best part was watching you and Asher reach for each other.

Holding hands with your buddy

You had two double ear infections this month, one right after the other.  With the first one, you didn't seem very sick at all, kind of normal.  With the second one, you got really sick.  You ran a high fever for two days straight, which was pretty scary.  I'm so glad you're feeling better.

Sick girl at Mommy's Office.
One Sunday early in the month, we had three parties to attend!  We went to a playdate with kids, parents, and teachers from your school, a birthday party for Eva and Ellie, and a party with one of Daddy's band guys.  You were quite the social butterfly!  You were so cute, in fact, that a man at the birthday party told the hostess that seeing you made him want a third child pronto!

Party people!

We spent Easter in Bryan with Meemaw and Pawpaw, Aunt Wendi and Uncle Brandon, and Aunt Paula, Uncle Buster, and your Cousins Logan and Cameron.  You looked so cute in the Easter dress your Meemaw bought.  She and I searched all over for a good bonnet, but couldn't find one.  Maybe next year!

This month we also took a trip to New Mexico.  All of your grandparents were there because you were being baptized!

Baptism at Saint Michael's
You were exhausted during the ceremony, and fell asleep shortly after this was taken.
The baptism was beautiful, but badly timed- you wanted to take a nap right as the ceremony started!  You were frantically tired- you grabbed on to my necklace and started sucking, and wouldn't let go.  Father Christopher accommodated you very well, even though you were wrapped tight around my neck the whole time.
We didn't get any pictures of you in your christening gown, which is a shame.  It was beautiful.  Nana Judy picked it out when she and Meemaw went shopping the morning after you were born.

Both of your godmothers came to New Mexico for your christening- you're a lucky girl, because these are two very incredible women.

Meg and CC trying to get a tired girl to look at the camera and hold still.  Ha!

While we were in New Mexico, you went to your first Zoo!  Most of the big animals were gone, but the polar bear was putting on a good show and you seemed really interested in watching him.  You also took a bath in Nana's new bathtub.  Her tub is surrounded by mirrors (your favorite!) and her tub has bubbles!  I don't think I've ever seen you so excited- you LOVED it.

You spent some quality time with Trigg and Mollie, too.  Trigg was really excited because you loved being with him (in January you cried every time he tried to hold you- I'm glad you got over that!!)

You have grown and developed so much this month!  You are now really good with your hands --you can pick things up, move them from hand to hand, turn things over, and get things in to your mouth with remarkable speed and accuracy.  Your reach is surprisingly far.  You are also starting to move your body to get things out of your reach.  You lean forward, to the side, lunging for what you want.
Sitting up happened so fast.  You couldn't quite do it when we were at the bluebonnets, but you had it down by the end of the next week.   We're now using a real high chair when you eat.  Your thighs are almost too big for your bumbo!

You LOVE bath time.  You really enjoy playing with toys in the tub, reaching for them and chasing them around in the water.  You love kicking your legs and splashing water.  Bath time is extra fun now that you can sit up by yourself.

You really love "drinking" out of grown up glasses, even though you end up scraping your teeth on the glass more than anything else.  It is clearly time to start cup training and giving you some water.

You are starting to act like a child, not a baby.  You see things you want, you get frustrated and bored, and you can communicate it!  You're also laughing, hugging, and starting to kiss (but your kisses are awfully wet).

Every day we get to see more of your personality, and you are AWESOME!

Your Daddy and I love you more than words can express.
